The Municipal Land Use Law N.J.S.A. 40:55D governs the creation and operations of Planning and Zoning Boards in the State of New Jersey. The intent of the Law is to encourage municipal action to guide the appropriate use or development of all lands in this State in a manner which will promote the public health, safety, and general welfare.

The Borough's Planning and Zoning Boards handle all applications that that have been denied a permit by the Zoning Officer. The applicant is required to apply to the appropriate Board as determined by the Zoning Officer.
