CALL FOR ARTISTS TO REPURPOSE THE "GENERAL TIRE" SIGN AT 70 WOODBRIDGE AVENUE

Notice is hereby given that submissions will be received by the Borough of Highland Park for the General Tire Sign Repurposing Project until Monday, August 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., prevailing local time.

Project Details:

 Budget:  Up to $10,000–$15,000 all-inclusive
 Eligibility:  Professional artists and artist teams; preference given to local and regional applicants
 Selection Process:   Up to three (3) finalists will be selected to submit proposals and receive a $500 honorarium.

To request a copy of the call for artists by email, contact the Economic Development Coordinator, Rutuja Vartak, at rvartak@hpboro.com or at 732-287-5801. Individuals and/or firms obtaining copies from the website are responsible for monitoring the website for the issuance of any addenda.

A hard copy of the call for artists is also available at the offices of the Borough of Highland Park, 221 South 5th Avenue, Highland Park, New Jersey 08904, and may be inspected and/or obtained by prospective respondents during regular business hours (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8AM-4PM; Tuesday 8AM-6PM and Friday 8AM-1PM).

Submissions must be received no later than August 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. and shall be submitted as a single PDF document by email to:

Any questions concerning this notice may be directed to Rutuja Vartak, Economic Development Coordinator at 732-287-5801 or at rvartak@hpboro.com. Any questions regarding the submission requirements must be submitted to the Economic Development Coordinator in writing on or before 1 PM on Friday, August 14, 2026 to ensure that the Borough has sufficient time to issue an addendum, if necessary.

The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all submissions, to waive any deficiencies and to suspend or abandon this process at any time.
