Join Highland Park residents at Donaldson County Park for a FREE concert featuring Evolution Ritmo y Armonia better known as Era' (Latin Fusion).
Under the direction of Tony Martínez, Era' is an ensemble that creates a unique musical show-like experience where sound, theatrics, and dance collide blending fashion, emotion, soul interaction, and musical storytelling into an unforgettable experience. Rooted in the timeless elegance of the 1920s through the 1970s, ERÁ weaves together the sophistication of Art Deco and the cinematic grandeur of Golden Age Hollywood with bold, modern interpretations. No genre is off limits. ERÁ takes any song, any style, and reimagines it through a distinctly Latin lens, bridging generations, cultures, and communities. Their interactive experience is designed to connect audiences and communities, network, become part of the show, and create relationships. It’s a safe space where performers and attendees come together, where every background and community is welcomed, and where meaningful connections are made that extend far beyond the stage.
Anthony “Tony” Alejandro Martínez is a composer, arranger, pianist, and creative director of Ecuadorian, Spanish, and French descent. His work spans classical, contemporary, jazz, Latin and Caribbean music, South American folklore, film scoring, and beyond. Rooted in the music of the Latin American diaspora, Tony brings a rich cultural perspective to everything he creates. A graduate of Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts with a B.M. in Music Composition, his original works, arrangements, and performances have reached audiences at prestigious venues across the tri-state area. These include Latin Jazz and Hispanic Heritage Month festivals, county arts events, private engagements, and invitationals for former President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, and at Rutgers University’s Nicholas Music Center. His film scores have screened on both the East and West Coasts, earning recognition from two film festivals. In addition to piano, Tony performs on the Venezuelan cuatro and Latin percussion, reflecting the depth of his musical identity. He is the founder and band director of ERÁ, a Latin fusion ensemble blending the elegance of Art Deco with the cinematic grandeur of Golden Age Hollywood. He also serves as Head Project Representative for two-time Grammy Award-winning producer and composer, Andre Sims, at ASP Muzik, where together they recently launched New Jersey’s newest exclusive artist showcase platform, THE BULB. As an educator, Tony has taught at the Newark School of the Arts, RMC Studios, and currently leads his own piano academy at the Institute of Music for Children in Elizabeth, NJ; he upholds his commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians while actively shaping the industry around him.
