The Highland Park Police Department offers a bicycle registration program for Borough residents. This service was initially offered at the Borough’s Annual Street Fair. Residents can bring their bicycles to Police Headquarters where an officer will log the owner’s information, the serial number, make and model of the bicycle, and affix a numbered identification sticker to the bicycle.

The Think Positive Bicycle Helmet Program

The Think Positive Helmet Program is designed to bring awareness to the fact that New Jersey law requires cyclists, skateboarders and roller skaters under the age of 17 to wear an approved helmet. The program, run in conjunction with Robert Wood Johnson's Safe Kids Middlesex County initiative, is designed to promote the use of helmets through a unique, positive method. Officers who observe someone in compliance with the helmet requirement will issue a "ticket" redeemable at a participating local business for a free food item.

If you are in need of a helmet for your child and can not afford to purchase one, the program will supply you a helmet(s) at no cost.
