Slow Down in Our Town, sponsored by Middlesex County, is a county-wide campaign that partners neighborhood residents and local law enforcement together to warn drivers to slow down. The program addresses problems with speeding and unsafe vehicle operation, especially in school areas and residential neighborhoods with children. It's as easy as putting a sign on the front lawn, and hopefully, drivers will become aware of their speed.
Signs will be placed on the front lawns of selected streets for one week. The signs are put out in the early morning, when traffic begins, and then taken in at night. Additionally, the department’s speed trailer is placed in the targeted area and radar details are conducted throughout the campaign.
