This new department combines the activities previously offered by our Departments of Aging and Recreation, with community-wide events added to its repertoire as well.

Headed by the Director of Community Services, this department is responsible for providing residents of all ages with a varied and comprehensive set of recreational, educational, social and cultural programs and services, with a special interest in community-building and bridging gaps within our diverse, culturally rich population.

Examples of these services include sports programs, art programs, guest speakers, trips, summer camp, outreach services and senior transportation services. We coordinate major community events such as our annual Unity Fest, Memorial Day parade, and July Fourth celebration. In addition, activities and programs such as our youth Halloween festivities, Winter Frost Fest, kite flying and singles events are also coordinated through this department.
